This is a very good post from Southern Records - one of the biggest and best independent record companies in the UK. This is one of the people these new laws are expected to protect. Please sign, for the good of music.

If you live in the UK and use the internet, you should care about this. The government wants to start monitoring our activities and cut off people they believe to be sharing files. Can you imagine how inaccurate and obtrusive a government-sponsored monitoring system would be? For example how will they determine what is legal and illegal? Mostly, I don’t want them having permission to watch what I do. What next? Cut off my electricity if I watch TV without paying my license fee?

Rory Sutherland, who heads up the Ogilvy UK group talks about the benefits of a 4 day week. So longer days for employees but giving them a three day weekend. He also digs into a bit of history referring to Henry Ford who started off the whole 5 day week from 6 as to give people more time to spend. Rory questions whether 4 day weeks would increase spend on time off?
