Today I am an uncle to Ava Lilly Herron, no pictures yet but she was 6lbs and born in the Seychelles. So here’s a track to celebrate.
Some pretty apt lyrics:
Bike for three - ‘Can feel love (anymore)’
“There’s a baby girl on the way. Blow your horn.
Know your warning. And last night becomes tomorrow morning.
She’ll know everything there is to know at first.
And that’s why she’ll cry sometimes and show it hurts.
The pain is far away and finally it’ll worsen.
Then big, round tummy becomes tiny, little person.
Straight lines and sharp edges. Adequate. Suitable.
What’ll go through her mind when she sees something beautiful?
What will her favourite music be? Displays of words,
Marvelling in front of mirrors and ways of birds.
Everyday miracles of men and god the savior.
Satellites in space. Patterns and odd behaviour.
Thoughts that wander aimlessly and unstoppable growth.
Will she think the falling rain is sad, beautiful, or both?
She’ll sleep through the storm and run in the breeze
With the unexplained everything and sun in the trees”

Nice track from a good album: ‘more heart than brains’
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.

awesome
This was actually an idea from Richard Thaler, co-author of the book ‘Nudge’ - here is his Google Authors talk @ Google where he mentions this and asks someone to build it. Great talk btw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dz9K25ECIpU
2010 a Tabula rasa, you can be anyone or anything you want to be. Choose to ignore or learn from the past, your choice.
Here’s an apt track from Superman Revenge Squad titled “I’m going to bed and when I wake up I’m going to be someone else”

Going with the flow is a euphemism for failing.
– Seth’s Blog: Boundary makers (via hiten) Via Hiten Shah's TumblrThis is a very good post from Southern Records - one of the biggest and best independent record companies in the UK. This is one of the people these new laws are expected to protect. Please sign, for the good of music.
If you live in the UK and use the internet, you should care about this. The government wants to start monitoring our activities and cut off people they believe to be sharing files. Can you imagine how inaccurate and obtrusive a government-sponsored monitoring system would be? For example how will they determine what is legal and illegal? Mostly, I don’t want them having permission to watch what I do. What next? Cut off my electricity if I watch TV without paying my license fee?
